EPOS-Iasis has recently established a state-of-the art Biotechnology and Nanobiotechnology Laboratory building the interface between industrial and academic research in Molecular Optical Imaging. The available infrastructure includes access to a cryopreserved human tissue collection facility, securing the development and assessment of the tissue phantoms and cultures, high biosafety level tissue processing and culture facilities, advanced cellular and molecular biology systems (e.g. protein and nucleic acids analysis systems; spectrofluorimager connected to image direct documentation systems), immunohistochemistry platforms, and Fluorescent Microscopes.
Access is further provided to a recently upgraded synthetic facility, a platform of local and international collaboration, equipped with Atomic Force and Electron Microscopes; NMR, HPLC, GC – MSpectroscopy, UV, IR and Atomic Absorption Spectrophotemeters, potensiostands, polisimeters, and open chromatography columns .
Through its Section on Optics Research, EPOS-Iasis has established basic optical and
fiberoptic laboratory with prototyping components, optomechanical equipment, ultra-high precision positioning and scanning devices, light sources (HeNe, Tungsten, Ti:Sapphire, and optical sources), detectors, signal generation and acquisition devices.
